Product Description

PIV stepless variable speed chain is a precision transmission chain for mechanical continuously variable transmissions (CVT). It realizes stepless speed regulation by changing the effective meshing radius of sprockets. Its core principle is based on "friction-traction" transmission. It combines the rigidity of gear transmission and the smooth speed change characteristics of belt transmission. It is widely used in heavy-duty scenarios that require continuous speed regulation.
1. Working principle
• Speed change mechanism:
The driving sprocket and the driven sprocket are composed of movable cone discs. By hydraulically or mechanically adjusting the spacing between the cone discs, the meshing radius of the chain (R1 and R2) is changed to realize continuous change of the speed ratio: i = R2/R1.
• Power transmission:
The chain transmits torque through the traction oil film between the chain links and the cone discs, avoiding direct metal contact and reducing wear (transmission efficiency reaches 95% - 98%).
